Explanation:Dashboard injuries typically occur in motor vehicle collisions when the flexed knee strikes the dashboard. This force drives the tibia posteriorly relative to the femur. The posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) is the primary restraint to posterior tibial translation and therefore becomes injured. Clinical examination includes the posterior drawer test and sag sign.
