Explanation:Psychological readiness is one of the strongest predictors of return to sport after ACL reconstruction. Athletes with fear of reinjury or low confidence often fail to return to preinjury activity levels despite successful surgery. Psychological factors influence rehabilitation participation and functional performance. Tools such as the ACL-RSI scale assess readiness for return to sport. Studies consistently demonstrate that mental readiness correlates strongly with successful return. Addressing psychological barriers is therefore an important component of postoperative rehabilitation. Reference: Ardern CL.
